Imagine

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere- Albert Einstein

I absolutely love this photograph. The girl is lying on her chest, bent over backwards with her feet directly over her head while sleeping. This is an illusion of sleep as she is demonstrating an incredible amount of flexibility and strength. Imagination takes the flexibility of the mind to come up with an idea and the strength and courage to execute it. It is how you create a great photo. This concept is also true in marketing. Photography and marketing go hand and hand to generate business and make a profit.

Photographs tell the story of the product. Napoleon Bonaparte once said “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Copywriters and advertisers write little and allow the photograph to tell the story. What do you see your product or service being pictured? How do you pose the product, model, or the product and the model to generate an advertisement? What is the story you want to tell?

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz took a photo of John Lennon and Yoko Ono for Rolling Stone Magazine. Lennon was in a fetal position facing a fully clothed Ono shot while Leibovitz shot them from above. That night John Lennon was shot and killed going into his apartment. The photograph was the last known photo ever taken of Lennon. It was Rolling Stone’s most iconic cover. There was no copy written on the cover just “Rolling Stone” on the top of it and the photo below it.

Marketing tells the story of your product or service. Photography is a tool marketers use to tell the story of that product or service. Together they make a powerful team. At Brent Clark Photos we help you tell the story of your business. Visit us at www.brentclarkphotos.net. What is your story?
